Good spain speedboat tours fill their seats weeks ahead and the small boats go first. Below: the 15 to book early, what the fare covers and how they differ.
Set out from Puerto del Carmen aboard the low-slung Biosfera Jet, scanning for dolphins, whales, turtles, and other sea life with help from the crew and binoculars. Take a fast Zodiac speedboat from Corralejo to Lobos Island in about 10 to 12 minutes. Choose a return slot on arrival, then spend several hours hiking to La Caldera, visiting the lighthouse, swimming at El Puertito, or eating at Antoñito el Farero. Snorkel gear is available at the Corralejo kiosk, not on the island.

Set out from Los Gigantes on a small RIB speedboat with a Spanish-speaking skipper such as Luca or Alejandro. Search for pilot whales and dolphins in the Teno-Rasca Whale Sanctuary, cruise beneath the 600-meter cliffs, then stop at Masca Bay or another cove for a swim. The boat holds up to 12 passengers.
“Amazing value for money and we came within 5 metres of several whales, including one with their calf. It clouded over while we were out so it got a bit cool (it was February) so I’d recommend packing a jumper or jacket. But I wasn’t cold. There’s also a stop for swimming (or jumping in and quickly out of the Atlantic) so pack a towel and wear swimming stuff if you fancy it.”
Join a two-hour speedboat ride from Salou or Cambrils with a lively captain and crew, including Mickey on some departures. It suits families, couples, and anyone who wants sea time with a generous dose of thrills.

Set out from Puerto Colón with a captain-guide, often Nico, aboard a small speedboat limited to 11 people. Search for pilot whales, dolphins and turtles under the official Barco Azul license, then stop near Palm-Mar or La Caleta for swimming and snorkeling. Drinks, snacks and gear are included, but harbor pickup is not.

From Puerto Colón, you’ll ride a speed boat 15 minutes to a secluded bay, then spend about 50 minutes snorkeling with a guide. Wetsuit, mask, fins, and a lifejacket if needed are provided. Groups are limited to nine, and guides speak English, Spanish, French, and Italian.
